Koshpendiler Alemi Ethnoaul (Universe of Nomads): the heritage of the steppes in the center of the metropolis

The grandeur of the steppes, the richness of ancient traditions and the unquenchable spirit of nomadic culture will come to life in Astana from 8 to 13 September at the 5th World Nomad Games.

This event is a unique opportunity to look into the past, feel its rhythm and experience unforgettable moments of unity with cultural heritage.

The Koshpendiler Alemi Ethnoaul will be organized within the framework of the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana on the territory of 10 hectares near the Kazanat hippodrome, where everyone will be able to immerse themselves in the rich world of the Kazakh people and get acquainted with the original culture of nomadic peoples.

On September 7, the Koshpendiler Alemi ethnoaul will open its gates to invite all guests to a stunning opening.

The cultural program of the World Nomad Games will be filled with events. It is a real cultural city with unique attractions.

Each day in the ethnoaul will begin with a grandiose Shattyk kerueni (Caravan of Joy) parade, which will be a bright start to the day, demonstrating the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Kazakh people.

Immersion in the world of nomads and their cultural richness awaits every visitor!

Dumandy dala (Joyful Steppe) concerts representing the best regional groupsfrom all over the country will take place every day from 12:00 to 17:00. Ethno-folklore ensembles, Kazakh national orchestras, soloists and dance groups will perform in the traditional ethnic style.

In the evening program offered at 18:00,  guests will enjoy Uly Dala Uni (Sound of the Great Steppe) gala concerts, which will end with grandiose performances by Kazakh pop artists and international bands, including the instrumental duet Arkaim, the song and dance ensemble Birlik and the soloist of dances of the peoples of the world Anel Marabayeva, the ethnoband Khazar, the ethnoband Steppe Sons, the Nomads Fire project and the inimitable multi-instrumentalist Yedil Khusainov. All concerts organized on the main stage Oner Ordasy (Center of Arts) are open to the public.

Immerse yourself in the world of skill and talent on the site of the ethno-tent. The exciting musical and poetic competition Aitys where the best aityskers of the country will test the power of strings and words will be waiting for you every day from 14:00.

And this is only one part of the program!

Shygys bazary (Oriental Bazaar) will be opened in the ethnoaul where people can taste dishes from restaurants of the Kazakh national cuisine. Guests will be able to taste and enjoy authentic Kazakh treats and delicacies.

Sheberler Auyly (Village of Craftsmen) where you can buy a variety of souvenirs will be organized on the territory of the ethnoaul. More than two hundred artisans from all over the country will present their unique products and share the secrets of their craft. Guests will be able to attend master classes in jewelry making, leather processing and ceramic sculpture. The children’s playground Balalar alany where children can have fun and have an educational time will be organized.

The 5th World Nomad Games is a landmark event of the year in Kazakhstan. It is expected that the event will attract more than 2,000 participants from 89 countries of the world.
