DEPUTIES OF THE SENATE AND MAJILIS OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE RK VISITED THE DIRECTORATE OF THE WNG
Today, a discussion meeting was held in the capital with the participation of deputies of the Senate and Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan to discuss issues of preparation for the 5th World Nomad Games, which will be held on September 8-13 in Astana.
At a meeting led by the Vice Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zharasbayev, the public was presented with samples of medals that the winners and prize-winners of the Games will receive.
To date, 89 countries have confirmed their participation in the Games program in all areas. About 2,500 participants are expected at this large-scale event.
The number of tourists who will come as spectators of the Games in Astana may exceed 100 thousand.
The World Nomad Games program includes three main areas: sports, culture, and science. By combining these three areas, the opportunity to study and promote nomadic culture on a global scale increases.
As part of the 5th World Nomad Games, competitions will be held in 21 national sports, such as equestrianism, national wrestling, archery, mind games, etc.
The ethnic village “Nomad World”, located near the Qazanat hippodrome and its environments, will host competitions in Horse racing, Kokpar, Hunting with birds of prey, and Archery. National wrestling competitions will be held at the martial arts palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov and the Alau Ice Palace, and intellectual games will take place at the Duman Hotel complex.
The opening ceremony of the Games is planned to be held at the Astana Arena stadium, and the closing ceremony at the Qazanat Hippodrome.
Currently, repair work is underway at the Qazanat Hippodrome. When fully operational, the racecourse can accommodate 10,000 spectators.
The Astana Arena and the Alau Ice Palace are also being reconstructed.
To fully explore the idea of nomadic games, the “Caravan of Unity” project will be implemented in all regions of the country.
An ethno-village “Nomadic World” will be created on the territory of the Qazanat hippodrome. Throughout the week, an exhibition of the best masters of Kazakhstan and the world and master classes will be held in the Ethno-aul. Aitys among poets and other events are organized to demonstrate our native culture.
Conditions will be created for 30 thousand people a day to visit the ethno-village.
As part of the World Nomad Games, the National Museum will host an International Scientific and Practical Conference. It examines the significance and heritage of the civilization of nomadic peoples in the history of mankind and gives a scientific assessment.
The slogan of the V World Nomad Games is “MEETING IN THE GREAT STEPPE”.
The World Nomad Games are international competitions in ethnic sports. The first three competitions of the World Nomad Games were held in the city of Sholpan-Ata (Kyrgyzstan) in 2014, 2016, and 2018. The fourth World Games took place in 2022 in Iznik, Türkiye.
