A BRIEFING ON VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES IN THE CAPITAL WAS HELD IN ASTANA
On May 13, the communications service of the city of Astana held a briefing on volunteer activities in the capital.
The briefing was attended by the President of the National Scientific and Practical Institute for the Welfare of Children "Orken" of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yessengazy Imangaliyev, Deputy Head of the Directorate for the preparation and holding of the 5th World Nomad Games Ablai Kondybayev, Head of the city volunteer headquarters Chingiz Tleulin.
Deputy Head of the Directorate for the preparation and holding of the 5th World Nomad Games Ablai Kondybayev spoke in more detail about the work on selecting volunteers.
Since January 2024, 4,683 applications for volunteering have been submitted from 13 Astana universities, 29 colleges and Active Longevity Centers. To promote information about volunteering, accounts were created on the social networks Instagram and Tik Tok, which collected more than 1 million views and reached 579,113 Instagram accounts.
Volunteer applications were received from 12 countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Turkey, Germany, France, Spain, Korea, Turkmenistan, Belarus and Ghana.
Interviews with potential volunteers are currently underway. Based on the selection results, 1000 best volunteers will be selected, of which 50 will become coordinators and 100 will be leaders.
Volunteers will undergo special training and take part in educational and training events.
