Today, on April 16, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev instructed the government, central state and local executive bodies to cut back on image events and reduce the cost of the Nomad Games.

"I cancelled a large international forum to save money. We will reduce the costs of the World Nomad Games. It is no longer possible to cancel such an event, but the budget will be significantly reduced. In addition, the budget for our country's participation in the World Exhibition in Tokyo will be reduced," Tokayev said at a meeting with residents of Northern Kazakhstan evacuated due to floods.

The Executive Directorate of the Organizing Committee for the Preparation and Holding of the 5th World Nomad Games expresses its support to all Kazakhstanis affected by massive spring floods. The staff of the Directorate transferred financial aid in the amount of one day's salary to help the affected regions. Also, the Directorate's volunteers have been providing all possible assistance on the ground and at humanitarian aid reception points since the beginning of the disaster.

Unfortunately, sometimes the force of Nature is stronger than man. And today, the Directorate of the Games with deep respect and understanding supports the decision of the Head of State regarding the reduction of expenses for image projects, including the 5th World Nomad Games. The Directorate immediately began to search for practical solutions to the instructions of the Head of State, and now the working group is already working in this direction.

Now, at a difficult time for all Kazakhstanis, our task is to unite and eliminate the severe consequences of the natural disaster together. At the moment, the welfare of the affected people is top priority for the whole country. Unity makes us strong.
