ASTANA HOSTS COLOURFUL HORSE PARADE AHEAD OF WORLD NOMAD GAMES
Today in the capital from 7.00 am about 30 horse riders walked along the iconic places of the capital. This unusual performance was organized on the eve of the 5th World Nomad Games, the official website of the akimat reports.
Also, during the performance, one could see dogs of the Tazy breed.
The participants of the performance gathered in the adjacent territory near the ice palace "Barys Arena" and then proceeded along the streets of Bukhar Zhyrau, Turkistan, Orynbor, Akmeshit, Dostyk, Kabanbai Batyr Avenue.
During the performance, the riders galloped past small architectural forms that decorated the capital for the upcoming games and ended near the Palace of Martial Arts named after Zh. Ushkempirov.
Traffic along the entire route was temporarily blocked during the procession.
One of the participants of the performance, founder of the equestrian club of travelers "Tengri Road" Sagadat Temkenov, shared his impressions:
"I popularize Kazakh traditions. One of them is my love for horses. I think that after this event I will go to the city on horseback more often. Today our goal is to encourage Kazakhstanis to participate in the 5th World Nomad Games, which will demonstrate our culture, history and traditions. In this way, we show patriotism, support for athletes and love for the Motherland. In addition, this large-scale event will contribute to the development of Kazakhstani tourism. The ethno-cultural code is something that can really interest foreign tourists. And I believe that we need to take small and big steps in this direction."
Sagadat Temkenov passed the baton of the ethno performance to representatives of the Zhambyl region with an appeal to organize a similar event in each region before the start of the games.
It is worth noting that the 5th World Nomad Games will be held on September 8-13. It is expected that about 2,000 participants will take part in the event. The general sponsor of the 5th World Nomad Games is the domestic technology company ALAGEUM ELECTRIC, and the main partner is the country's backbone universal commercial bank - Halyk Bank. At the World Nomad Games in Astana, 97 sets of medals will be played out in 21 sports.
