13 EU COUNTRIES HAVE APPLIED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 5th WNG
Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Marzhikpayev met with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan Kestutis Jankauskas.
The meeting was also attended by Vice-Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Erkinbayev, Chairman of the Committee on Sports and Physical Culture Yerbol Myrzabosynov, Head of the Directorate for the Preparation and Holding of the 5th World Nomad Games Nayil Nurov and an employee of the Program Department of the European Union Delegation Nicola Franceschetti.
The delegation from the European Union was presented not only with the tourism potential of Kazakhstan, but also with its sports potential. Yermek Marzhikpayev spoke about the upcoming major sporting event, the 5th World Nomad Games, which will be held in Astana from September 8-13.
“About 3,000 participants and officials are expected to attend the Games. This is a large-scale project aimed at developing national culture, sports and tourism, and uniting the nomadic peoples of the world. The World Nomad Games is also the largest tourism event that will gather more than 100 thousand tourists in the capital of our country. I invite you to personally participate in the official opening ceremony. We hope that the countries of the European Union will take an active part in these games,” the minister emphasized.
Currently, 40.4% of Kazakhstanis systematically engage in physical education and sports. In 2023, the share of children and adolescents involved in physical education and sports reached 27.3% (984 thousand people). Various competitions in Olympic, non-Olympic and national sports are held throughout the country every year.
Аccording to Nayil Nurov, 13 countries from the European Union applied to participate in the 5th WNG.
